LWVGP Question: Given limited resources, what areas of funding are a priority for you and why?

By Matt H. Smith

Candidate for State Senator; Pennsylvania State Senate; District 37

In order to build the future in western Pennsylvania, we need to make smart investments in education and programs that create jobs and economic development. That's why I've fought as a State Representative to ensure that our kids can compete with anyone by expanding pre-K initiatives and high school Math, Science, and Engineering programs; and to encourage manufacturing and green building to create jobs. I'm also fighting to make State Government more efficient by reducing the size of the Legislature and cutting its budget by 20%.
