Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Kevin J. Boyle

Candidate for
State Representative; Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; District 172

This information is provided by the candidate

In 2010 I decided to run for office to represent a district that not only covers much of the Northeast but embodies its very spirit. The neighborhoods I represent are comprised of tens of thousands of hard working people doing their best to raise their families and keep their neighborhoods strong.

This has become increasingly difficult as times have gotten harder and our neighborhoods have gotten rougher. It is more important than ever that we diligently maintain the character of our neighborhoods. Throughout the city, blue-collar neighborhoods have fallen to crime, unemployment, closing schools, and rampant blight.

In January 2011, I accepted the challenge of fighting for our neighborhood locally and in Harrisburg. With the help of many we've been able to combat a variety of issues. My constituent service office has serviced over 8,000 people who have needed help with everything from potholes to child abuse. Since the summer of 2011, I have stood with the community and aggressively fought against a proposed methadone clinic for Frankford Avenue. And, together, we've waged war against negligent out of town property owners.

Despite the hard battles we have fought, we are far from done. I believe the Northeast is at a crossroads; it can either go above and beyond the prominence it once possessed, or it can go downhill. Only with your dedication and continued support will we be able to remain fighting. It is my sincere hope that you continue this battle with me and continue to support me in my legislative and community endeavors. I hope you find my website informative and educational.
