Quality Education

-Invest in our teachers and provide the funding our school districts need to succeed. I intend to work with my colleagues at the state and federal level to insure that the core educational infrastructure of Pennsylvania is preserved for future generations.

-Support and expand worker re-training programs to provide vibrant, high-growth industries with a constant supply of skilled workers.

-Develop a youth intervention strategy that provides the support and assistance needed by at-risk youth to break the cycles of poverty and violence and help them become productive members of the community.

-Support programs that provide assistance to students seeking higher education, keeping in mind that alternatives to the traditional four-year college exist.

Job Creation and Economic Development

Invest in "green" technologies and clean energy to reduce our region's dependency on fossil fuels and exposure to harmful price shocks that threaten our local economy. Make strategic investments in our technological and physical infrastructure.

-Invest in Pennsylvania's economic future by providing loans and tax incentives to small and mid-sized businesses in high-growth industries.

-Provide support and incentives for job-creating small business owners. Encourage the creation of business incubators and launch pads, the development of sustainable local business networks, and the proliferation of programs designed to foster local economic growth.

-Support programs that foster coordination and cooperation between educational institutions and job creators. We must all work together to forge effective private- public partnerships that stimulate economic development and job growth.

Safer Communities

-Focus on Crime prevention by addressing the root causes of crime and violence.

-Invest in programs that reduce recidivism rate and substance dependency.

-Ensure that police departments across the state are provided with adequate resources to accomplish their goal of making all communities safe places to live, work and raise family.

-Commit adequate support to K-12 education. Pennsylvania has never fully funded education to the level required, which has contributed to the de-stabilization of our communities. Back to top

Fiscal Responsibility & Tax Reform

-Restore fiscal integrity to the Commonwealth by reducing state spending to 2006 levels and re-prioritizing spending to core state government responsibilities.

-Employ performance-driven budgeting to ensure that taxpayers see a return on their investment.

-Manage long-term liabilities such as pensions by planning strategically to balance present-day needs with future commitments and long-term concerns.

-Eliminate the property tax. The continued heavy dependence on local real estate taxes to fund the educational system challenges senior citizens on limited income, young families, and others in need, weakening our communities and threatening the dream of homeownership for residents across the Commonwealth.

-Stop spending money and start buying results for the people of Pennsylvania.

Quality Constituent Services

-Tirelessly advocate for the needs of the people of the Lehigh Valley.

-Provide constituents with status reports on pending legislation.

-Assist residents in navigating through the application process and bureaucracy of state government while working to eliminate unnecessary red tape.

-Attend events that are critical to our district and residents.
