The McNeill Family has lived in the 133rd district for over 100 years. Dan McNeill has devoted his whole life to service, first for his country, and then his community. He has committed to making our community better for future generations, first as a union construction worker and labor leader, and then as an elected official. This commitment to service is manifested in both the professional and volunteer work he has performed and has culminated in a desire to further serve residents throughout the Lehigh Valley as State Representative in Pennsylvania's 133rd District.

Dan grew up in the East side of Allentown and graduated from Louis E. Dieruff High School. After graduation, he proudly served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for six years and received an honorable discharge.

McNeill worked for the Ironworkers Local 36 , putting in 38 years of service, serving as Business Agent and Secretary/Treasurer for seven years. Dan also served as Vice-President of the Lehigh Valley Building Trades for seven years, and was responsible for securing employment for many Lehigh Valley workers.

Dan then turned his sights on serving his neighbors in Whitehall Township and Lehigh County, when he was elected as a Whitehall Township Commissioner, serving two terms for a total of six and a half years. During this time he sponsored legislation for a Sex Offender Ordinance which was passed by the Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners.

He was appointed as Whitehall Township Executive in March, 2006, serving 26,000 constituents and oversaw five balanced budgets with no tax increases. He also secured funding for the Route 145 Safety Project from former Governor Ed Rendell in the amount of 8.5 million dollars to help make our community safer.

Dan then moved on to Lehigh County where he was appointed Manager of Regional Partnerships for Lehigh County in February of 2008, securing grants for the 25 county municipalities. He started the first ever Lehigh County Citizen Police Academy, which was endorsed and supported by the Pennsylvania State Police, Allentown City Police, the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office, and all of the neighboring municipalities. Dan organized the safe streets program, which put new police officers in Allentown, Salisbury, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem, and Catasauqua.

Dan currently lives in Whitehall with his wife of 27 years, Jeanne. They have two daughters, Kathleen and Shannon.
