To serve as chief law enforcement officer of the county and as custodian of the county jail and its inmates. To apprehend criminals and persons alleged to have violated state laws. To receive and execute processes and writs from the Appellate, Common Pleas, and Probate Courts. To have auctions of property taken from non-payment of taxes.
