Position Papers
Economic Development - Create Sustainable Long Term Growth
"Retail is Retail" is what I was told by our City Attorney, when I asked her what sort of process do you go through when businesses want to leverage our 130,000 and growing consumer base. I say this because of the following;
Fiscal Responsibility + Ensure the Best use of Our Tax Dollars
Fiscal responsibility includes planning for contingencies, where is our contingency plan? Plans that go well beyond backup and recovery for our City.  We have no ability to change direction in a timely manner.
Dynamic School District - Our Students and Teachers Need Help
Regardless of how you feel about pensions, our teachers are over loaded, most of our classes are filled to the maximum amount allowed by State law.  Our City Council proposes at a Heroin Task Force meeting that our Teachers need to be responsible for busting the kids who are high on drugs. So, we are asking them to teach and be the drug police as well. That is crazy when they are there to teach our kids and prepare them for the future.
