JANN REED, NO PARTY PREFERENCE

Why me? Why now? It's because Californians deserve better than handpicked successors by departing politicians. If we continue to elect the same politicians to represent us, we will never fix California's broken political process.

I, like many Californians, decline to align myself with a political party. I do not feel represented by polarizing parties with war chests to protect their seats. It is time for representation to belong to the people of the 4th State Senate District - not the major political parties that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for votes. I don't have the money to outspend my opponents, but if you give me the opportunity to represent you, I have the dedication to look at every issue from all angles for new solutions. I will stand strong for the people of the North State and all of California.

For the past 8 years I have served on the Chico Unified School Board struggling to maintain a quality education for the public schoolchildren of California as funding declined 20% due to the Legislature's antics. Doing the business of California with tricks and gimmicks is a sorry way to represent the people.

I do not have all the answers to issues facing California, but I have the energy and intelligence to get California back on track to once again be the state others respect and admire. California can take care of its people and keep its economy healthy.

I ask for your vote on November 6.
