Position Papers
Fiscal Management
As a Council Member, my focus in Fiscal Management is to continue to manage the city budget wisely and be proactive in seeking new revenue streams that are sustainable and have less of an impact to Sonoma's quality of life and more of an impact on our future. Sonoma was blessed this year with a balanced budget and not having to draw from reserved funds. We need to maintain this positive trend for the future by ensuring nothing is overlooked or goes unnoticed that may have a negative impact.
Economic Development
As a Council Member, my focus for Economic Development is to build partnerships with organizations and government agencies that help fund local business projects. Continue partnering with the non-profits that provide important services to our community and implement the "Shop Local" concept to keep money in our community. As a whole, we need to be more business friendly and help grow small businesses that are already rooted in our community.
Youth Engagement
As a Council Member, my focus for Youth Engagement is being proactive as a community to get the youth involved. I want to help foster Youth-Adult Partnerships that are structured so that both groups contribute, teach and learn from each other. Through Youth Engagement, our community can create the services and opportunities to develop our youth. Youth Civic Engagement is also critically important to prepare our youth to be active citizens in democracy.
