Candidate for
Board Member; Bellevue Union School District

Yvonne L. Kennedy was first elected to the Bellevue Union School District Board in 1979. During her 33-year tenure, she has been instrumental in maintaining the solvency of the district through financially uncertain times.

She prepared herself for the position of a school board trustee by working as a school volunteer, being an active member and officeholder in the School Site Council and regularly attending school board meetings. During those years she enriched her experience by participating in parent workshops and attending state conferences.

Yvonne has continued to gain knowledge of educational strategies, state and federal law and current trends by reading, attending workshops and conferences and by communicating with parents, teachers and administrators. She relies upon her experience tempered with an open-mind and humanistic values. She strives to be a life-long learner.

Yvonne is a full-time homemaker, mother of two grown sons and a wife of forty-five years. She is a native to Sonoma County.
