Education/Experience

I received a B.S. degree in History/Government from Sophia University and a Masters Degree in counseling and guidanc(career education) from San Jose State University.

I have 30 years experience in the field of education. As a teacher/career counselor, I coordinated a career education program for at-risk youth including personal counseling, preparing students to succeed in the work place and placing students into jobs with private employers. Also, I taught English, History and Government to high school students and adults.

For two terms, I was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Education, as a Trustee, served on the Kenwood School Board and currently serve as a Trustee, Area 1, Sonoma County Board of Education (SCOE).

Community Involvment

I am an active member of the following organizations: Rotary Club of Santa Rosa, and California School Board Association. In addition I participate/support the activies of the Oakmont Kiwanis Club.

In addition to the regualar duties as SCOE Board member, I serve on the SCOE Curriculum committee and the SCOE Law committee. Note, the laws governing school districts are different than federal, state county, cities laws. Also, as a Board member, I serve on the Inter-district transfer Request Appeals Board.

I plan to acomplish, in office evaluation of all program for effectiveness and cost, prioritization of budget items with direct services to students will have highest priority, initation of effective instructional programs. The SCOE Board Members, provide instructional leadership to the Sonoma county school districts.

With my education, experienc,community activities, dedicationand, and energy, I will continue to be an excellent SCOE Board Member.
