I am the only candidate who spoke in favor of having the City voluntarily comply with the Brown Act, despite the State's decision to suspend the requirements of the Act, during City Council deliberations on this issue. As I stated during public comment, I firmly believe that a central function of government is ensuring that the public understands, and has input, into the decisionmaking process. The best way to acheive these goals is to make available to the public the information upon which the government intends to rely upon for its decisionmaking
