Putting People First

By Jim Wood

Candidate for Mayor; City of Oceanside

This information is provided by the candidate
As Mayor I promised to improve Public Safety, provide parks for our youth and protect our seniors. I have kept those promises.
I have worked with other cities to ensure the closet fire and medical unit responds as quickly as possible.

I will work hard to retain our firefighter/paramedics who are able to provide emergency medical care including medications to save lives.

I continue to work to save our seniors and veterans homes. Prop E threatened to take that away and it was soundly defeated by You, the People!

I will also continue to work on keeping our parks open and well taken care of so everyone can use them. Residents have benefited from the additional three new City parks, the new El Corazon Senior Center, an improved downtown area and I am looking forward to the numerous soccer fields that will be established by Sudberry Development.

As always, I recognize the importance of our Oceanside library, recreation centers and the need for quality city services.

I am also mindful of the ongoing issue to the quality of our water supply. For that reason, I oppose the establishment of the Gregory Canyon Landfill because of the potential impact it would have to our water supply.

Last, I will work to ensure no one takes your home simply because a council majority of Kern, Feller and Felien voted to build a road or an interchange.
