Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Michael K "Mike" Morasco

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Escondido

This information is provided by the candidate

1. Public safety and security. This means for every individual and family. Safety and security in the home, the neighborhood, in our schools and at the workplace. Safety and security from bullies, gangs and criminals. This is achieved via strong, well-trained and well-equipped police and fire departments. By having an active anti-gang task force and by keeping our streets safe and free from those who drive under the influence. By being a rule-of-law city that enforces the laws, codes and regulations that have been legislated. By working with neighborhood and community groups and organizations, churches and service clubs that have similar goals and concerns.
2. Water and sewer services; roads, thoroughfares and infrastructure that are reliable, consistent, well maintained, affordable and afforded to every residence, business, school and facility within our city. This means appropriate allocation of taxpayer dollars for these essential elements to a highly satisfactory quality of life.
3. Financial stability and solvency. The health of a city is measured in part by the financial stability of that municipality. A financially stable city can lead to individual and family stability and security (and vice versa). Prudent financial management, investment and planning are essential to afford all of the needed services a city has the obligation to provide its' citizens. Balancing the budget, living within our means and having a healthy reserve put the city in a position to be able to progress, repair, replace, create and develop programs, services, facilities, jobs, workforces and infrastructure for decades to come.
