INCREASED RECYCLED WATER USES AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
Approved development plan and project financing to expand an existing 2.5 million gallon per day wastewater treatment plant to 5.0 million gallons per day. Sold all 5 million gallons to other local water agencies for outdoor irrigation uses.

Am leading an initiative to create a North County Recycled Water project that includes a collaboration of 19 separate City and Water District agencies plus Camp Pendelton to produce 17,000+ acre feet of recycled water for industrial processes,and outside irrigation use. An acre foot is approximately 326,000 gallons of water, which is what a family of 4 uses in 1 year!!

A part of Vallecitos Water District Board effort to voluntarily participate in the clean-up of Lake San Marcos in conjunction with other public agencies.

Signed a 2005 Purchase Agreement to buy 7,000+ acre feet of ocean desal water directly from Poseidon project. Presently reviewing and considering a purchase agreement to buy same water from San Diego County Water Authority.

Created AND/OR creating action plans for future drought conditions as well as reduced water supplies from Delta and Colorado River water sources.
