Smart Voter Official Statement for Julie Wiltshire

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Monte Sereno

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Community Volunteer
Age: 41
Education and Qualifications:
I am a married mother of two and have lived in Monte Sereno for 8-1/2 years. My children attend Daves Avenue and Fisher Middle School, and for years I have volunteered at these schools. I also coach NJB basketball.

Previously, I worked at a law practice in London as a lawyer and represented clients in human rights and immigration matters. I also handled property transactions, which included learning first hand about complex property issues with very old properties in the center of London.

I am interested in pedestrian safety throughout Monte Sereno, and I wish to recognize property owners' rights. Also, my legal experience affords me an understanding of liability. I would proactively solve existing Monte Sereno concerns to avoid later legal problems.

I will have an open mind when dealing with conflicts that affect people in our community. Instead of having one policy or slant, I believe that each case should be decided on its own merit.

I seek to bring the voice of reason to the Council, striving for solutions that bring acceptable conclusions to ongoing disputes. My problem solving abilities and fresh perspective will be to the benefit of Monte Sereno.
