Occupation: Parent/Community Volunteer
Education and Qualifications:
Having been involved with SCUSD for many years, as a parent of SCUSD graduates, a leader of SCUSD Bond Oversight Committees and other SCUSD Committees, I understand the District's challenges. Our students deserve effective use of limited public funds to continue closure of the student achievement gap to help ensure students have a brighter future.

As your Board member, I will continue to advocate for funding for an end to furlough days, for teacher, counselor and classified staff retention, and for phased rebuilding of education programs at all levels, while still responsibly dealing with fiscal accountability.

It is critical to ensure modern local school facilities will be in place to enhance student academic achievement and accommodate student population growth.

I have served as the Treasurer for the recent successful SCUSD Measure A that maintains core academic programs in science, technology and math and keeps school libraries open. I was a founding member of the Santa Clara Schools Foundation and have served as a volunteer science docent for the Girls Achieving in Non-traditional Subjects Program.

I am honored to be endorsed by former Superintendent Don Callejon, outgoing Board Member, Don Bordenave, and many others.
