Occupation: Appointed Incumbent, Education Software V.P.
Education and Qualifications:
K-8 education is as much about learning how to learn as it is about learning facts. The Los Altos School District is nationally recognized for implementing innovative practices in all aspects of learning. My goal as a Trustee is to continue this focus on creating an education experience that challenges both students and staff while setting a foundation for life-long love of learning. As a parent, with two children in Los Altos public schools, a school volunteer and two years as PTA president, I have experienced what works and where we need to improve.

The challenge for the District is how to continue to innovate, educate and inspire students while facing budget uncertainties and resource limits. Operating ten schools on nine campuses continues to place a strain on the community and the District. We need to build from our greatest strength - the quality of education across all our schools and work with the broader community to pursue creative solutions. To make it happen we need an open partnership between parents, teachers, administration and the Community, based on a common goal - doing what is best for our children.
