Education and Qualifications:
Taxpayers should not have to pay twice for publicly educated students to be ready for a chosen trade, profession or college. Yet after eight years as your community college trustee, I know firsthand that too many SCUSD students need academic remediation after high school.

SCUSD students will have job opportunities in the 21st century global economy only if we provide effective, rigorous preparation in English, Math, Science and Technology, balanced with arts, music, foreign language and sports. SCUSD students must enter college or the workforce fully prepared and competitive with their privately educated peers.

I am grateful to have earned two degrees from Santa Clara University and a Juris Doctorate from Concord Law School. As the dad of two SCUSD elementary school students, I know all kids can achieve.
