Smart Voter Official Statement for Jerry Sorensen

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Los Altos

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Management Consultant
Age: 54
Education and Qualifications:
A twenty-nine year resident and community volunteer, I am running for Los Altos City Council to refocus the Council on Solutions for the Community.

My experiences in management consulting, and working with disparate groups to find common solutions provides me with a unique background to serve on the Council, and to involve and work with our talented community stakeholders to achieve effective solutions.

Recently I have worked with the California Downtown Association, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and with municipalities to develop and implement a thoughtful and thorough visioning process focused on reenergizing downtown districts, a process that involves the community in decisions. As a Council member I will work to engage the Los Altos Community and foster an environment of transparency.

We must immediately involve our community to focus on the challenges we have for our seniors, our finances, our downtown, and to build strong respectful relationships with all community stakeholders, our schools and our municipal neighbors.

I ask for your vote now, and your participation in solving these challenges for our community tomorrow. I invite you to visit my web site, http://www.sorensenforcouncil.org, to find out more about me, and how the community can help solve our challenges. Thank you.
