Community Trust

The Santa Clara Police Department has a long tradition of doing things the "Santa Clara Way". We hire only the best people who will be committed to 100% contact 100% of the time. This concept ensures that our officers will do their best to serve you each and every time you need us. I commit that I will continue this tradition of ethical policing and will continue to follow our Value Statement that guides us every day.

Fiscal Responsibility

Ethical leadership includes being a good steward of your tax dollars. I pledge to be fiscally responsible and constantly look for ways to reduce operating costs, while continuing to provide a high level of service to our community.

Services

I pledge to continue to seek out excellent community programs. I will do this by supporting youth programs such as P.A.L. and D.A.R.E. I am committed to keeping an open dialog and positive partnership with all of our public and private schools to keep our children safe. I will listen to our senior citizens and address their needs. I am very supportive of our Neighborhood Watch and want to increase our involvement with a Business Watch program. We could not be a safe city without the involvement of all of our citizens and businesses.

Social Media

The Police Department currently offers various media outlets to inform our community. I encourage citizens to visit our website at http://www.scpd.org. From this site you can learn more about the police department, become educated with crime activity in your area at http://www.crimereports.com, or check out the Megan's Law website. I encourage everyone to register at http://www.alertscc.com and visit our city website at http://www.santaclaraca.gov to register for eNotify to obtain future emergency information in your area. I pledge that I will continue to look for ways to inform our community of police related activity. I am committed to increase Public Service Announcements on Channel 15 and add Facebook and Twitter to our website. I want our citizens to be proud, and informed, of the Police Department's activities.

Traffic

Throughout the city there are some exciting new economic development projects. These projects will bring many benefits to our community - projects like the housing developments at the old BAREC and Kaiser sites, the NFL stadium, and the "Main Street" shopping center at Mervyn's Plaza. These projects will also bring an increase in traffic related issues. I am committed to work in partnership with the neighborhoods and businesses affected with traffic issues.
