Smart Voter Official Statement for Jeff Moe

Candidate for
Board Member; Fremont Union High School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Business Executive/Entrepreneur
Education and Qualifications:
Pepperdine University, MBA, University of Colorado, BS-Business, Asian American Parent Association (AAPA) co-president and member for 14 years. My wife Loy and I are 29-year residents of Sunnyvale and Cupertino. The excellent education offered by FUHSD schools has benefited our four children and has attracted outstanding and diverse families to our community. We must continue this excellence.

Looking ahead, we are faced with daunting issues: growing student enrollment, budget uncertainty, implementing the common core state standard, and developing 21st century learners. My priorities will be: a) wise use of scarce resources and fiscal responsibility while attracting and retaining outstanding teachers; b) provide opportunities for every student to develop their full potential and be productive members of the community; c) strengthen the relationship between FUHSD and the community.

As founder and President of a software company I understand the necessity of controlling expenses and maintaining an excellent team. While AAPA co-president I received the "Friend of Education" Award from FUHSD for bringing parents and schools together. Through volunteer activities (classroom volunteer, church finance committee chair, youth basketball/baseball/soccer coach) I know the importance of forming a strong bridge between schools and community. http://www.jeffmoe4fuhsd.org
