Occupation: Public School Teacher/Member, Board of Education
Age: 52
Education and Qualifications:
Our students require an excellent education. That's why I've worked very hard for six years as your representative on the Santa Clara County Board of Education and eight years previously as your East Side trustee challenging the status quo and cutting through bureaucratic red tape to ensure our students' academic needs are the district's number one priority.

With a Teaching Credential, MBA degree, nearly two decades of experience in high technology industries and as a past Board President, I've led initiatives such as increasing the number of high-quality charter schools, securing a building for the county's Alternative Education students, reforming district leadership and balancing a $275 million dollar budget. Additionally, I have fought to ensure excellent schools for all students; to enhance district accountability to the public and to ensure fair employment practices.

I want to serve on the San Jose/Evergreen Community Board to help it better succeed in preparing students for school-to-career options, to enhance student employability skills and to help students complete their college education.

Please join George Shirakawa, President County Board of Supervisors; Dr. Xavier De La Torre, County Superintendent; Joseph Di Salvo, County Board President; Principal Leila Welch, Evergreen SD and others in supporting my candidacy.
