Education and Qualifications:
I am a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Stanford Law School. I am an attorney and, with my partners, have built a thriving local patent firm.

I'm an experienced community volunteer. I've served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills. I'm married and the father of three young children. I have coached my children's AYSO soccer teams, and I've served in leadership roles for school fundraising events.

I'm running for El Camino Hospital District Board to serve our community and to do my part to preserve and strengthen the hospital. I believe the small, local nature of our community hospital has been the key to its success, and the reason why so many of us cherish El Camino Hospital.

If elected, I will look with skepticism on further efforts to expand the hospital's service area well beyond the District's boundaries, as occurred with the 2009 acquisition of the Los Gatos hospital.

I will insist that the hospital meet the full range of our community's healthcare needs, and I will involve our community more meaningfully in making major strategic and financial decisions.
