Smart Voter Official Statement for Diane T. Gordon

Candidate for
Board Member; Campbell Union High School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Incumbent/Businesswoman
Education and Qualifications:
It has been an honor to serve on the CUHSD Board of Trustees. I know that students must come first, that we must continue to build and foster relationships in the community and we must maintain a balanced budget through proper stewardship of the district's finances.

Over the last four years despite drastic cuts to education, we have balanced the budget, maintained class offerings and improved test scores at all of our sites. This could not have been done without the support of our community stake holders. I must thank the community for renewing our parcel tax which has been used to backfill some of the State's cuts and our employees who all agreed to salary reductions for the 12/13 school year. This reduction has allowed us to maintain course offerings while still balancing the budget. Finally, I thank the many businesses and organizations who have continued to support our district with their resources.

We must continue to think outside the box and find new ways to provide educational opportunities for students while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I am committed to work on behalf of our students, our staff and our community. Thank you for your support.
