Smart Voter Official Statement for Susan Garner

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Monte Sereno

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Incumbent
Education and Qualifications:
I have been a resident of Monte Sereno for 22 years and have spent my career working as a geologist. I am honored to have served on our city council during the last four years, protecting our city's interests, our public safety, our environment, and our unique character. During these last four years, I have ensured continuation of our excellent police services contract to maintain our high standard of public safety, protected our existing zoning laws to prevent overdevelopment, continued to implement traffic safety enhancements along Highway 9 and throughout the city, voted to eliminate city council compensation, and diligently represented and served our regional interests as a Director for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and several other government agencies. I am also proud that during a time of economic hardship for the State, our city has consistently maintained a healthy surplus budget throughout the last four years.

I ask that you re-elect me this year so that I can continue to represent our city as it faces the challenges of regional growth, zoning pressures, competition for funding, negotiation of contracts, and diligent maintenance of our public safety and our financial reserves.
