Occupation: Retired Principal/Teacher
Education and Qualifications:
Every child deserves an outstanding education. My 37 years as an educator were dedicated to youth, inspiring them to reach their highest potential, empowering them to help make a better world and encouraging the community to support and invest in neighborhood schools.

As a high school teacher and Villa Principal at Independence for 24 years, my priority was to foster and encourage the success of students, meeting their needs academically, socially and emotionally. As Principal at Silver Creek, I focused my efforts on maximizing student achievement by contributing to students' well being and working collaboratively with teachers and parents, increasing the API by 58 from 729 to 787.

As a Board member, my hands-on experience will provide a fresh perspective on the needs of students. I'll advocate for children and families so that all students graduate ready for college and careers.

East Side is my home. My husband and I have lived in the Berryessa area since 1976. Our children attended Independence High School.

Education and Awards: MA, Education, Administration and Supervision, San Jose State; 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the United States; San Jose Local Hero of 2011, California State Assembly.
