As your city council woman I pledge to protect our coastal and mountain environment, create a sustainable healthy community, with enough prosperity for future generations to enjoy our Carpinteria.

Four years ago you elected me your City Council Member. I am proud of my first term in office.

Accomplishments:

Defeated Paredon proposed onshore oil drilling.

Acquired the Seaside Building and public park lands.

Banned single use bags.

Celebrated the reopening of the remodeled ecologically and environmentally sustainable award winning Albertsons Supermarket.

Funded the Public Library to stay open more days.

Kept our city fiscally solvent with nearly $6.8 million in reserve

Established three citizens committees, Neighborhood Preservation Committee, 101 Freeway Design Review Team, Integrated Pest Management Team.

Secured Grant Funding to rebuild Carpinteria Creek Bridge and the 9th Street Pedestrian Bridge

Sponsored "First Friday" events to encourage residents and visitors alike to shop local.

Hired an Environmental Coordinator to work with state, county and local conservation and environmental groups and retain project grant funding .

Created two pocket parks.

Approved Dahlia Court 33 apartments and community center and Casa de Las Flores, 43 apartments and a community center low income Worker Housing Developments through People's Self Help Housing

Approved Lagunitas Mixed-use live work Project, 37 single family homes and 36 condos, with 11 affordable condo units. Currently in the construction stage with over 50% sold.

Replaced gas powered city vehicles with hybrids

Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District Board of Directors (Chairperson) Beach Erosion Authority For Clean Oceans and Nourishment South Coast Homeless Advisory Committee League of Cities Representative Voting Delegate Coastal Cities Advisory Committee to California Coastal Commission

Carpinteria needs real leadership. Carpinterians need hard working elected officials they trust with a proven track record.

As your City Council Member I pledge to:

Preserve our precious ocean ands mountain environment

Promote sustainable growth, make the use of trains, bikes, public transportation more accessible, safer and easier.

Enhance our downtown business district.

Encourage discussion and dialogue to increase and retain economic vitality in the business community. Tyco, Megellan and Clipper Windpower left Carpinteria in the last 2 months.

Establish a World Surfing Reserve at Rincon

Create a community garden for our friends and families.

Build a skateboard park, and a bowling alley, so our kids aren't jailbait.

Reduce our use of toxic pesticides and chemicals by implementing the recommendations of the Integrated Pest Management team.

Work with CALTRANS to implement the Design Review Team findings in the 101 expansion final plans for bikeways, bridges and aesthetic features that retain the small town character of Carpinteria.

Bring back the Carpinteria bathing beauty to welcome visitors, a nostalgic gateway sign on the way into and out of town

There is a lot worth keeping here in Carpinteria the last real rural, revered, relaxing and remarkable California beach town. Vote to re-elect Reddington November 8, 2012
