Jake Rambo was appointed a board member to represent Trustee Area 6 on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Jake has long-standing ties to the Elk Grove Unified School District. He is a graduate of Joseph Kerr Middle School and Elk Grove High School, where he was active in student government, sports, and an all-state mock trial attorney. Jake continued to be involved in Elk Grove Unified School District after graduating, serving as attorney coach of the Elk Grove High School Mock Trial Team, a powder puff football coach, and regular guest speaker at student events. He has also served as a substitute teacher for the district.

Jake is also active in the community. He has volunteered on city and county commissions and coached youth soccer. He serves on steering committees for the Sacramento County and California State Mock Trial competitions and was previously a peer court advisor.

Since 2009, Jake has served as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of California. He is also a volunteer Temporary Judge of the Sacramento Superior Court. In 2007-2008, he served as regional team leader in Afghanistan, overseeing legal reform and development programs in five northern provinces and serving as a member of the United Nations Human Rights panel for northern Afghanistan. He previously worked as a Deputy District Attorney.

Jake graduated with honors from the Martin Luther King, Jr. School of Law at U. C. Davis. He holds a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Cedarville College and a certificate in American Studies from the American Studies Program in Washington, D.C.

Jake's wife, Sonia, is a teacher in the Sacramento City Unified School District. They have a school-age son attending a school in the district, and two preschool aged boys.
