Why I'm Running for City Council

By Gary Capolino

Candidate for Council Member; City of Moreno Valley; Council District 5

This information is provided by the candidate
I am not a politician. I have never held or ran for elected office. I'm running now because I cannot sit on the sidelines and let Moreno Valley continue to decline.
My wife Dora and I have lived in Moreno Valley for 25 years. This is where we raised our two children. We love Moreno Valley but are concerned about its future.

Over 13,000 residents are out of work. The city's budget has only been balanced by taking money from emergency reserves. Residents are increasingly concerned about their safety. Children lack opportunities they need to succeed.

As an accountant and local small business owner I want to put my knowledge and experience to work for you to get Moreno Valley on the right track.

My priorities for City Council are:

-Attract the private sector jobs we need to get residents back to work.

-End budget deficits and protect taxpayers by cutting wasteful spending.

- Ensure our Fire and Police Departments can keep our neighborhoods and families safe.

- Help children by supporting education, after-school programs, and youth sports.

- Reform city government by putting term limits on the City Council and establishing a citywide mayor.

I am not a politician. I have never held or ran for elected office. I'm running now because I cannot sit on the sidelines and let Moreno Valley continue to decline.

I love this city and know that working together we can turn Moreno Valley around and accomplish great things.

I kindly ask for your vote to serve as your next City Councilman.
