Like so many Irvine residents, our family was attracted to Irvine for the quality of its schools and the well designed neighborhoods and parks. We moved to Irvine ten years ago after living in my home country of Singapore and San Jose. We have two sons, Eric and Kevin. Eric and his wife Mandy are both doing residencies at UC Davis Medical Center. Kevin recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Pharmacology.

I recently retired after 30 years of corporate and business experience in banking, finance and information technology. Raised in Singapore, I have worked and travelled throughout the world. For many years, I served as Senior Vice President of Operations for the Singapore International Monetary Exchange. I relocated to San Jose for a position as a General Manager for Tandem Computers. I have also held positions as Assistant General Manager for the Development Bank of Singapore, Vice President of the Singapore branch of Continental Bank and Regional Manager for Smith NuCourt, a British Stock Brokerage Firm.

My civic involvement began through volunteer work at the Lakeview Senior Center. That lead me to run for a seat on the Irvine Senior Citizens Council. I now serve as Chair. I am also on the Steering Committee for the Irvine Global Village Festival, have served as Vice President of the Irvine Chinese Evergreen Chinese Senior Association for the past two years and sit on the board of the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association.

I currently use my knowledge and experience in finance as a member of the Irvine Finance Commission, serving as Mayor Pro Tem Beth Krom's appointee. Through my interest in education, I became involved in the Support Our Schools campaign, serving as co-chair and helping gather 18,000 signatures to qualify the measure (Measure BB) for the November 6th ballot.
