Why Does Water Matter?

Water is a reliable resource we have all come to expect. When we turn on the faucet, it is there. When we take a shower, it makes us clean. When we water our lawns, it makes them green. All at a rates we can afford.

But did you know there are constant threats to this way of life?

Pipelines can be interrupted or turned off because of political maneuvering
Contaminants can infect the water supply
Insufficient water storage wastes precious resource

What is Being Done? As President of the Municipal Water District of Orange County, Jeff Thomas has worked tirelessly to protect against these threats while protecting the rights of taxpayers.

A Leader Who Doesn't Just Make Promises, He Fulfills Them...

  • Negotiated South County coalition plan which saved taxpayers $2.4 million
  • Blocked proposed rate hikes and tax increases
  • Balanced and reduced the MWDOC budget
  • Stopped a spike in union member pensions
  • Developed a conservation plan that is a model for other water agencies
  • Maintained reliable, safe and clean water supply to residents

And Will Conitnue To Work On Issues That Matter Most
  • Develop desalination plants in South Orange County and Huntington Beach
  • Maintain the integrity of the water supply and keep our pipelines secure
  • Keep rates low without raising taxes
