A Tough Fiscal ConservativeWhy Vote for Jeff? This year's election will be a referendum on elected officials at all levels of government, how well they manage taxpayer dollars, how responsive they are to the public's needs and how accountable they are to their constituents.As President of the Municipal Water District of Orange County, I am proud that our agency continues to provide the highest quality water with uninterrupted service, at the best possible rates. These accomplishment have not been just happen stance. Over the last three years, I have led efforts to stop planned water rate increases and a spike in union member's pensions. We have cut our budget over $600,000 by reducing benefits, cutting spending and forfeiting pay increases. We formed a coalition with South Orange County water agencies that saved taxpayers over $2.4 million. Of utmost importance is the reliability of our water supply. We must keep our pipelines from Northern California and Colorado secure, while continuing with plans for two desalination plants in Huntington Beach and Dana Point, which will create future jobs and reliability. This will take proven leadership and a vision for Orange County. With your vote, I hope to continue safeguarding your water supply and respectfully ask for your support. |
