I'm looking forward to returning to public serviceWhen I first became involved with the City of Placentia this city was headed towards bankruptcy. Previous city councils had placed us in tremendous jeopardy with runaway spending. We went from a multimillion dollar reserve to a $16 million deficit in less than two years. Now, thanks to our combined hard work our budget is balanced with no deficit and there's a fiscal recovery plan in place. But now, with the dissolution of Redevelopment, this city is facing some of the most serious and difficult financial issues in our history. My reputation has always been fiscally conservative and as a career business man I've been charged with budgets many times that of the city. As a former Councilman, I have in depth city budget experience that no other candidate can claim. Not only have I served on the City Council I have also served as a board member on the Orange County Fire Authority, a Trustee for the Orange County Vector Control District and a board member for the St. Jude Memorial Foundation. This being said I feel I have the leadership and practical experience necessary to hit the road running. While we are a long way from being fiscally comfortable, the $16milllion deficit we had in 2004 has been erased. The budget is balanced and there's a fiscal recovery plan in place. Now, as a career business man who has been responsible for budgets many times that of the citys, I feel strongly I have the experience and the background necessary to move this city forward. You can count on me to handle the difficult issues and to keep public safety as my top priority. I will work to manage Gangs, drugs and graffiti and encourage market driven development and revitalization in all parts of our city. For the better part of the last 45 years I have called Placentia home. When first married I bought our first house here, I've raised a family here and I'm very proud of our city. I have been honored to serve you in the past and I look forward to serving you in the future. And, I'm very proud of my accomplishments and I would very much like your vote to return to public service.
