Candidate Statement

By John Santoianni

Candidate for Board Member; Anaheim City School District

This information is provided by the candidate
This is the full version of my candidate statement as it will appear on the sample ballot.
Our students deserve an education that stops "teaching to the test" and starts focusing on creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration.

I respectfully seek your vote for Anaheim City School Board because we need someone who will engage teachers, parents, students, residents, and community leaders in a spirit of mutual respect, to accomplish this goal.

I have over twenty years of experience working for private industry and public agencies to serve diverse clients such as students, seniors, families, businesses, and taxpayers; most recently as a Guest Teacher in the Anaheim Union High School District.

As Chairman of the Anaheim City School Bond Measure G Oversight Committee, I hold the district accountable for over $200 million in public funds that are designated for voter-approved projects like school construction and renovations.

Together, we can move the district in a new, positive, and forward-looking direction and successfully deliver the more relevant and engaging 21st century education, greater community involvement, and better management oversight that our students and Anaheim deserve.

I am proud to be endorsed by Anaheim Elementary Education Association, Anaheim Secondary Teachers Association, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, and Anaheim City Council Member Lorri Galloway.

Vote John Santoianni.
