My Philosophy

By Roman A. Reyna

Candidate for Council Member; City of Santa Ana; Ward 5

This information is provided by the candidate
It takes governance and practical experience to fully understand resident issues.
Promise: As a life-long resident of Santa Ana, and the only candidate with governance and practical experience, I understand resident issues and will always have your best interest in mind.

Goal: Bring neighbors together. I believe that the one thing we all have in common is that at the end of the day we all go home. Home should be our starting point in making our city a better one. Neighborhood associations are the best vehicle for residents to voice their concerns. I will continue to build bridges between neighborhood associations, P.T.A.'s, local businesses, faith-based organizations and service providers.

Education: Education should be a priority. We must make schools safer and conducive to positive learning; preparing our youth for college. We must engage both our youth and parents to be part of the learning process to ensure a sucessful experience.

Business: I believe in keeping resident dollars in Santa Ana. I will develop an Incentive Program that will generate more tax dollars to pay for police officers, infrastructure (streets, curbs and gutters) and youth programs. It will create a win-win situation where Santa Ana residents spend their dollars in Santa Ana businesses and, in turn, Santa Ana neighborhood associations and PTA's receive financial support from Santa Ana businesses.
