Why vote for the "Water WatchDog?"I have been a resident of South Orange County with my wife and four children since 1974. I was employed at SCWD as Controller and then Director of Finance from 2005-2008. During that time, I became involved with every facet of the financial affairs of our district. As a result of my employment, I attended and participated in all of the district's public board and committee meetings. I frequently prepared staff reports for the board concerning important financial issues such as the annual budget, capital projects, banking, audits, and financing. I'm very familiar with the district's major challenges of today, such as the large sewer tunnel, the development of the thirty acre property behind the San Juan Costco. I believe that my past financial and managerial experience, as well as my education, prepares me well for the SCWD Director position. My career in financial management spans thirty-five years of construction and real estate development, as well as over ten years in the water industry. I've experienced both private and governmental enterprises and am quite well versed in both business approaches to financial enterprise solutions. |
