Lawrence R. "Larry" Labrado Sr. was elected to represent Trustee Area 3 in November 1994, holding the position of President of the Board four times. He is currently also serving as chairperson of the Board Facilities Committee and is a member of the Board Policy Committee.

During his tenure, Santiago Canyon College has developed from an education center, to a full fledge community college. With the support of the Orange taxpayers, the campus is now built to meet the needs of the students. Also, the residents of Orange can access the campus library, if they have an Orange library card.

A former educator, Labrado served as an Outreach Director, overseeing a budget of over $1,000,000 at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) prior to his retirement. Currently, he is a small business owner with more than 20 years of experience in tax preparation.

Labrado is devoted to advancing the education of local youth and adults. He has served in countless leadership roles over the past four decades and has earned numerous awards. These awards range from, being selected into the Santa Ana Hall of Fame, recognized as one of the 50 successful Latino alumni from Cal State Fullerton, and was inducted into the Cal State Fullerton Educational Opportunity Program Hall of Fame.

Larry currently serves as a member of the American GI Forum, director of the American GI Educational Foundation and is a member of the audit committee for Veterans in Community Service. In the past, he has served on the Leadership Advisory Committee for the Orange Chamber of Commerce, as well as LULAC Education Foundation, Orange Community Development Block Grant Program Committee, Orange Community Video Advisory Board, Orange County Manpower Advisory Committee, The Friendly Center Inc., and Co-President Sycamore PTA.

Labrado, who is known in the community for making decisions that support his advocacy for students, holds an Associate Degree from Santa Ana College and a Bachelors Degree from Cal State Fullerton. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force, and strongly supports Veterans causes.

Larry Labrado Sr. has many goals for the city of Orange, but his main focus is to continue to improve the quality of life for all residents. If elected, his experience and leadership will prove to be beneficial for all who reside in this great city.
