My name is Kitty Jaramillo and I was born and raised in the City of Fullerton. My public education was at Maple Elementary, Wilshire Jr. High and Fullerton High School. I completed one year at Fullerton Jr. College and then married my husband Jimmie (39 years), we have two children, Antonio & Sunnie, who were also graduates of Fullerton High.

My career was in municipal government, both for the city of Fullerton and Santa Ana. While working for the police I was one of the original Community Service Officer's which started me on the path of true public service. I saw the needs of the community, its residents and the disconnect to our local government. Once I started with the City of Santa Ana I was able to start volunteering for the City of Fullerton programs and committees. It was time to get involved and give back. I have been an active volunteer with the city for the past 15 years and a community volunteer/leader for over 30 years.

Currently, I chair the Maple Alumni Committee, member of the Homeless Task Force Committee, member of the Gang Injunction Ad-hoc Committee, treasurer for the Orangethorpe Learning Center which tutors low income children and a driver for Meals on Wheels in Fullerton. I also served on the General Plan Advisory Committee and the Community Development Block Grant Committee. I have also served on the boards of several athletic organizations such as Fullerton High Boosters, West Fullerton Little League, Fullerton Rangers Soccer and participated in Golden Hill Senior League.

The Maple Alumni Committee in conjunction with Maple PTA, is devoted to raising funds each year for Maple Elementary School. We are a group of alumni that attended Maple School in the late fifties to early sixties until the school was closed by the district. The children from the Maple area were bused to 5 different elementary schools throughout Fullerton. Your best friend from around the corner would be going to a different school. Families had one vehicle so they could not participate in school programs. It created a void in the community but our longtime friendships prevailed and Maple Alumni Committee was created. Bobby Melendez started with a small group of friends from the old neighborhood having picnics and it grew from that point on. It was at one of these picnics that we decided to start our mission to help Maple School children be competitive and proud of their school.

My heart has always belonged to the the City of Fullerton. If elected I will restore hope, improve the quality of life in this community and work to return a positive atmosphere for our great city.
