Ray Grangoff is a proud Orange resident with a strong commitment to public service. For over a decade Ray has been actively engaged in the field of public policy as an advocate for the taxpayers and limited government.

Here in Orange, Ray serves as member of the Planning Commission. As a Commissioner he has worked diligently to advocate for small business, property rights, and preserving a strong quality of life for Orange taypayers. Ray's advocacy for the taxpayers does not stop at the Commissioner's dais. He is a four year board member with the Orange County Taxpayers Association, serving three years as an officer for the Association.

Professionally Ray works as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Orange County Supervisor Patricia C. Bates. Mr. Grangoff advises the Supervisor on issues concerning public safety, transportation, and government affairs. He is the Supervisor's liaison to such agencies as the Sheriff's Department, District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation, Orange County Courts and CEO Legislative Affairs. He also serves as the Alternate Member on the Transportation Corridor Agencies Board of Directors.

Prior to joining the Supervisor's staff, Ray was Director of Public Affairs for the Apartment Association of Orange County. The Apartment Association is one of Orange County's foremost advocates for private property rights and free enterprise. Ray's other past policy experience includes working on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant and serving on the Education & the Workforce Committee's staff under the chairmanships of now U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Representative Buck McKeon (R-CA). Additionally, Ray was elected to the San Lorenzo Unified School District Board of Education where he served for four years.

Community service is an important value to Ray. He is a graduate of the Orange County Sheriff's Department Reserve Academy and regularly volunteers as a level three Sheriff Deputy Reserve. Ray is also a proud member of the Orange Elks Lodge #1475.

Ray is an active volunteer for the Republican Party. Ray was recognized in 2009 by the Republican Party of Orange County with the "Emily Sanford Volunteer of the Year" award. He regularly registers voters, speaks to high school and college groups, walks precincts, and donates his time at the county's GOP Headquarters. He has served on the Orange County Young Republicans' Board of Directors for the past few years, first as Volunteer Chair and most recently as President. In 2010, he was elected to the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee for the 60th Assembly District.

Ray has a BA from California State University, Hayward and an MA from The George Washington University. He is also a graduate of the Orange County Leadership Academy, through the County's affiliation with Chapman University.
