Candidate for Board Member; El Toro Water District

Successful in setting policies and managing District assets for past 12 years.
Participated in partnering with neighboring agencies to increase water storage and supply reliability. Examples of these efforts include: (1) Baker Water Treatment Plant to access supply from Irvine Lake, (2) considering participation in Huntington Beach Ocean Desal project, (3) tracking South Orange Coastal Ocean Desal project, and (4)participating in discussions with Camp Pendleton and San Diego County Water Authority and tracking progress on Camp Pendleton Ocean Desal project.

During my tenure on the Board the District has consistently meet all State and Federal water quality requirements. District has continued to modified organization to reduce staff and labor costs. District maintain 401k style retirement program for all District employees. District implemented a Water Budget-Based Tiered Conservation Rate Structure to encourage efficiencies and promote fairness. Revised billing statement to clarify how charges pay for services. Established fund for maintaining existing facilities. Aggressively pursuing technology upgrades that enhance efficiencies and reduce operational costs. Providing regional leadership to control costs for wastewater treatment and disposal.
