Whether teaching in the classroom or supporting businesses to work with schools, my passion has been to enable the highest level of performance for students, teachers and administrators.

As a parent I:

• volunteered for six years in the classroom
• served as School Site Council President for 3 years
• volunteered on the Textbook Adoption Committee

Technology serves as a great teacher's aide in the classroom especially by encouraging writing and reinforcing math concepts for students who are challenged by various concepts. I advocate a learning station model where students rotate into the technology stations during day. There, they can work on their unique needs. This model worked for me for the four years that I was the school Technology Coordinator. Equally important is adequate teacher training and real time support for the technology. If the network goes down, teachers lose valuable time that they can't get back. Six computers in a classroom would be a good starting point to build the technology program.

As a business woman, I worked for IBM, Cisco and Oracle training sales teams how to work with school administrators, curriculum directors teachers and administrators. I learned to work with the business side of education and this gives me a well-rounded view of a school district.

I advocate:

• fiscal responsibility
• sound core curriculum
• high quality teachers and administrators
• interacting with parents and the community
• keeping schools safe and enforcing bullying policies
• accountability for all school personnel
• promoting a common vision for parents, students, and staff

• study all issues carefully
• make fiscally responsible decisions
• make students needs a priority
