Why I am running for this office

By Edward J. "Ed" Fern

Candidate for Board Member; El Toro Water District

This information is provided by the candidate
I am asking for the opportunity to improve our water service in several ways:

  • We can and should have a billing system that actually encourages conservation
  • We deserve meetings of the Board of Directors at times most people can attend them
  • District projects should be managed effectively and efficiently
  • Consolidation of overhead costs across Orange County water districts should be a priority

My confidence that we can do these things rests on four decades of project management experience. I have been a resident of the El Toro Water District since 1987. Since 1994, I have been President of Time-to-Profit, a training firm focused on business process improvement projects, project management, and new product development. I have held Director level positions with Sprint, Control Data Corporation, TRW, and Infonet Services Corporation. I earned an MS in Technology Management from Pepperdine University in 1992 and my Project Management Professional designation in 1998.
