I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of the changing times.

The purpose of the Silverado Modjeska Recreation and Park District is to provide a well-rounded, wholesome program of recreation and leisure time activities for all persons residing within the District. This shall be accomplished through the acquisition, development and construction of recreation and park areas and facilities, along with the development of supervised recreation programs.

As a Board member, my role and responsibility will be to support the SMRPD Mission statement."To promote community well being through programs and activities that protect, preserve and enrich the canyons' heritage, open space and unique way of life."

By doing so, I will provide programs and activities that benefit us as a community. I believe these programs should be fun, exciting, unique and educational, teach us about our surroundings, our history and what makes us so unique.

We have had very little recreational or social opportunities in our canyons for a long time. The very reason we were formed, we have strayed away from. I am committed to making that change. My goal is to create and maintain quarterly and annual programs that include a variety of activities for all ages.

In addition, I am committed to updating and improving our parks and community centers. Specifically, the Modjeska Park playground and surrounding areas are long overdue for upgrades and repairs. We may need to seek outside resources to complete this update but I am committed to doing what it takes to provide a safe play area for our children.

Another project that I would like to tackle is to work hard to bring a feeling of community spirit back to our canyons and our Parks District and lead us away from the division we face today. I would really like to be most involved in bringing our canyons back together through open and honest communication amongst ourselves and continue building relationships with other elected officials in the County of Orange. I have the organizational and communication skills to help achieve this goal.
