Public Safety is a top priority. Our financial health depends on attracting new large and small businesses to stimulate growth. We need a safe and secure environment for our commercial district, residential neighborhoods and schools if we are to attract new development. We must continue our effective Gang Intervention and Human Trafficking programs.

Our city services depends on everyone fairly paying their tax obligation. Business will not base their companies in Westminster unless we have a fair and equal playing field. For example, sales tax revenue has increased in the State and the County, but in Westminster it has gone down. We must work with the State Board of Equalization to determine the cause and remedy this situation.

We must balance our budget in a responsible manner by removing non-essential programs, restructuring our procedures, examining our leadership structure; readjusting fee and licensing costs to reflect actual administrative costs; add innovative programs available in other cities, and look at multi-city consortiums for police and public safety services, such as our highly successful Swap-Team consortium.
