My family and I are products of public education. As a Probation Officer, Gang Intervention Specialist, former Human Relations and Early Prevention/Intervention Commissioner, I have spent my career working with our youth and parents.

As a parent I am vested in this community. Meaningful parent and youth engagement is the key to our children's academic success. I know that education is the key to improving our quality of life, helping us build college bound youth, good jobs, and healthy families. I believe, "Cuts in the classroom are not acceptable!" I want to be your voice and hold school leaders accountable. I will champion partnerships between city and community organizations, and manage taxpayer funds in an efficient and effective manner. My priorities are Adequate and Quality Education for All Expanding computer related, music, arts, advanced placement and college preparation programs Expanding pre-school, summer school, after-school and weekend tutoring programs Expanding Special Education services Increasing English instruction

Building our Futures by: Increasing graduation rates Reducing drop-out rates Reducing student absenteeism

Responsible Leadership by: Engaging/Increasing parent and youth involvement Supporting term limits for board members Investing your tax dollars in providing state-of-the-art school facilities
