Growing up in the Central Valley, Michelle volunteered at a nursing home. Not only did that experience inspire her to become a nurse, but it instilled a passion for giving back. She has dedicated her life to her community ever since. As a member of the PTA since her son started school at Eastshore Elementary in Irvine, she has chaired several PTA committees. She has served as a board member for the Dolphin Club after-school childcare at Eastshore and served as Board President this past year. As a school nurse in Orange County, Michelle has been advocating for students and families in the educational setting for years.

Michelle grew up with strong ties to Orange County. She has many fond memories of the summers she spent as a child with her family in Orange County. She chose to settle down in and make Irvine her home because of its reputation for strong schools, safety and family-centered community. She lives with her sister, Yvette, and her son, Alex, a 7th grader at Lakeside Middle School.

Michelle has always been a model of academic excellence. She is in graduate school at California State University, Fullerton, where she is studying for her Credential and Masters in Nursing. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Nursing from the University of North Florida, and graduated Valedictorian at the top of her class from high school, as well.
