Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Peter N. Le

Candidate for
Board Member; Marina Coast Water District

This information is provided by the candidate

I want to run for a Director seat at the Marina Coast Water District to provide for more transparency, avoid costly mistakes such as the failed Regional Desalination Project and at the same time keeping efficient and low cost delivery of water services and collection of wastewater in Marina and the Ord Community.

As I mentioned at the public meeting on August 13, 2012 at the Marina Library, the Marina Coast Water District, in conjunction with Fort Ord Reuse Authority, may be able to lower the costs of water delivery at the Ord Community by loaning potable well water for a limited period of time, say 2,500 acre-feet, to Cal Am to meet the dead line and enable Cal Am to complete the construction of their proposed desalination, reclaimed water and aquifer recharge facilities at the same time.

The Board of Directors must inform the rate payers how much money has been spent on the failed Regional Desalination Project, how much money has been reimbursed from California American Water Company to date, how much money will be reimbursed from Cal Am and how much money will be borne by Marina ratepayers. Additionally, the District must again look at other ways to resolve disputes with Cal Am and Monterey County Water Resources Agency besides embroiling in numerous lawsuits.

I appreciate your vote and support. Please email me at peter381@sbcglobal.net if you have any questions.
