I am running a single issue write-in campaign. When I discovered that the BART Board of Directors is elected, I wanted to vote for a candidate who promised to try to lower fares. Before I registered as a write-in candidate, that wasn't an option.

I'm not running because I think I will win this election. I'm running to give myself, and anyone else who is interested, the opportunity to send a message to the eventual election winner. The message is, "BART fares are too high. Work on figuring out how to lower them."
