Candidate for
Board Member; Antioch Unified School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Claire Renee Smith

My age is: 57

My occupation is: Community Volunteer - Mother

Education and Qualifications:

My husband and I have 6 children who have attended Antioch public schools and local California colleges. We have lived in Antioch for 30 years.

I am committed to improving and sustaining student achievement with measurable goals.

I will work to make certain that we have schools where our students are safe.

My votes on the school board will ensure our budgeted money is used in a way that benefits students as a first priority and invests in their future.

The quality of education in our schools and assuring that our students succeed must be a priority. I believe that allowing the students to choose their educational path will prepare them to flourish academically. I will help establish more specialty schools to give the students more options in directing their future.

I strive to make my presence known at school campuses throughout the community. I volunteer in classrooms regularly, teach Junior Achievement, and read in classes.

I care about our students and their families. I am on campuses every day. I interact with as many students/parents/teachers as possible.

Together we will make a difference.
