Education and Qualifications:

As a former board member of MUSD I held this office from 2002 through 2010. In those eight years the board worked hard to successfully rebuild a functional district office staff. We worked with all staff to increase student achievement while watching funds from Sacramento continually shrink. We worked with staffto find the resources to keep this district out of state takeover and remain solvent. This community rallied support with two ballot measures, B and K and the city provided an additional $500,000 to support our students, staff and schools. In those years all staff sacrificed much to keep this district in the black and to keep student achievement the primary focus. I believe that education is one of the critical keys to our economic recovery and remaining strong as a nation. I have been endorsed by Board President Bobbi Horack and Board Vice President Vicki Gordon so I ask this community for your votes to join them in helping keep this district the valuable asset that it is and to help continue the positive forward momentum shown by the great staff of MUSD forthe last 10 years.
